About Memorials & Tribute Tree, Bench, or custom
Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens welcomes donations made in honor or in memory of a loved one or special event and planned gifts which allow our most committed supporters to make the gift of a lifetime.
Memorial Tree
A memorial tree can be designated with a minimum gift of $5,000. Recognize a special person or occasion with the gift of a living tribute. With the help of the garden staff, you can select an established tree to be designated with a granite engraved marker. The marker may include the donor’s name, honoree’s name, and personal sentiment as space permits. If the tree does not already have one, a label will be included with the plant name, common name, family name, and nativity of the tree. The honored person’s name will be posted in the newsletter. Records of endowed trees with the donor’s name, honoree’s name, and/or sentiment will be maintained in the Gardens database. Included with a memorial tree is a family membership for two years.
Tribute Bench
Provide a place for respite and reflection. A new bench requires a minimum gift of $3,000. Benches can be placed along a trail, in a particular garden or within view of an honorary plant. Garden staff will assist in the selection of an appropriate location. Benches are installed when weather permits. The bench will be the designated style of the gardens. All benches will be recognized with a metal engraved plate attached to the center back of the bench. The plate may include the donor’s name, honoree’s name, and personal sentiment as space permits. The honored person’s name will be posted in the newsletter. Bench records, with location, donor’s name, honoree’s name, and sentiment, are maintained in the Gardens database. Benches are replaced only when damage beyond repair occurs within 5 years of installation. Included with a tribute bench is a family membership for one year.
Guarantee
Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens guarantees a memorial tree or bench and label for ten years. If the initial tribute selected perishes or needs to be moved within ten years, another will be designated. We will use contact information on file to notify you of any changes (should your contact information change, please notify the Garden). After ten years, the Garden reserves the right to remove a label for any reason including a change in use of the area. Should a label be removed, every attempt will be made to reach the contact person to allow the option to make an additional contribution to designate another plant or bench. Please note that your tribute is not a purchase of a tree or bench and the Garden will determine proper maintenance. The Garden may not permit designation of certain plants based on their health and longevity.
